another week

Stephanie and I put our scene from Life Under Water up in class Tuesday. It went well. She got a part in a showcase so that was probably her last class. It went over very well. We did a good job and worked well together.

Elissa and I put our scene up in class, Funeral Parlor by Christopher Durang. It went over very well but then we rock. We do actually. We work VERY well together.

Mailing off a round of headshots and resumes today. This has to be a regular thing/ongoing project. You simply must treat acting as a business if you want to get anywhere. At least that's what the working actors tell me. And as I want to be a working actor, I'm listening to them.

You can be unemployed and be all the artist you want. I'd prefer to be working, thanks. You can't practice your craft in a vacuum. It has to be seen. You have to work.

Busy day all around yesterday. Dropped off my headshots. Went to my singing lesson. Happy with how that is going! Definitely going to try out for the Natl tour of The Full Monty in two weeks. Not sure my singing will be up to snuff bu then but hell, I need the audition experience and again all they can do is NOT want me, eh? Dropped my Jazz dance class, it just is not what I am looking for. Need to find a music theater dance prep class.
