saving my love
Very busy day on the acting front. Today was my voice lesson. I found out they are holding auditions for a touring version of the Full Monty in a few weeks, I may go try out, not that I think I will get it but I would like to get used to the audition process before I actually get out in it full steam. Make sense? Get used to it before the role comes along that I really want. Going to sing Ain't Mis-behaving and hopefully have a song ready from the show... we'll see. They want tenor's and I know the show has at least one bari-tenor. Not sure if I can swing that range at this point. My instructor says I'm a bass baritone. Hope I can swing the bari-tenor... so many more role options available. Will work to achieve it. Irregardless it's good to have a goal/project to strive for/work on.
Today was also my first Jazz dance class. Wow. Very cool. Used muscles I never used before! I only wish I had more dance classes a week... may have to look at finding more.
I finished off the day with my acting class. Put up a new monologue. It's comedic, from an Arthur Kopit short play The Day The Whores Came Out To Play Tennis. My scene partner from Proof wants to work on a one act with me. It's Christopher Durang's Funeral Parlor. Should be fun. Apparently Carol Burnett performed it with Robin Williams. As I look like Carol's illegitimate child that she never admits to, it seems appropriate somehow!
Mailing out resumes and headshots tomorrow. They're just the shots I ran off on my ink jet but they look damn good. They will do until I get the real 8x10s. After all what can it hurt? I don't get a call back on work that I would have missed had I sent nothing out? I think I'll survive. =)
