just A FEW

Acting class went very well yesterday; one scene partner and I put up our scene from A FEW GOOD MEN and another partner and I put up a scene from P.S. YOUR CAT IS DEAD. Both went very well, esp., A Few Good Men. Got a new scene to work on as well. Heavy on the dialogue for me, which is neither good nor bad, just is.

Learned a lot from A FEW GOOD MEN. The scene is short so I thought would be over and done... easy breezy but it wasn't. Many layers to it very interesting. Lesson? Don't judge a piece by its length. *heh, heh*

Writing a scene/play hopefully for the next showcase. Wrote a draft and sent it to my acting coach and now working from his notes. It's already become something I didn't start out with. Which is good. I like the process.

Acting class again tonight. Jon C and I are putting up A FEW GOOD MEN complete with uniforms... well near-uniforms anyway. I did finally watch the Tom Cruise movie version as well as the extras. They really are two different animals, two stories based on the same incident. I think I prefer the stage version but I really enjoyed the movie. I think I like my smilin' Jack Ross over Kevin Bacon's almost weaselly pratt but both serve the storyline.
